New York trip in my words and with my camera. Chapter 1

From the moment my  Sacramento plane lands at JFK I see difference. There are many reasons to love  New York and  not really. I love watching crowd walking and think about life. People walk on the streets, city never sleeps, at nights it's even busier then during day time. And day time is very crowded with tourists and office workers. I love craziness of the city and also quietness of suburbs!
First thing I  hear is different languages such as German, Spanish, Russian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Portuguese... You name it! What's bad is only in the central part of town smell of urine, garbage and dust. Streets full of garbage backs at nights.
No public restrooms! And all businesses have a note saying - Restrooms are for customers only! It's so odd and embarrassing for New York. due to that it's not very pleasant thing to  witness homeless people peeing on the streets.
What's good competing to Sacramento is everywhere Organic stores. People eat much healthier and exercise more. Even on the lunch breaks they try to play ping pong or go to a gym. But...I feel like every person in NY smokes cigarettes. In Sacramento it's opposite. everyone quits but prefer fast food place. Maybe New Yorkers have no time to eat but smoke due to having more stress? Interesting but it's not many fast food places. Mostly you see it's restaurants and small family own dinners.
People dress nice! That's my favorite thing of all times! Doesn't matter men or women. It feels like everyone here is a model!
During day can find so many cool things on the streets. Such as dog drawing with an arrow which points you...nowhere. But about five blocks away this I finally saw dogs. And not just dogs but absolutely adorable Maltis pappies for adoption. I was ready to take them all home with me! Apparently someone else adopted them earlier then I (like few years back). This is I'm talking about meeting Dog Walker  with two gorgeous dogs.

Many other things to do you can find during a day...

I think an artist have a studio up there

Old taxi cab used as a delivery car for a restaurant

Any product is better when it looks cool

Interesting but people seat all over the city like this. I guess when you tired you don't really care

Love glass windows!

Giant canvas

You never guess but this not a museum but a clothing store!

Squirrels are absolutely fearless in the city and...friendly

I had to tight my dress with knots due to subway situation ( didn't want to become next Marilyn Monroe!)

Battery Park. A lady doing yoga and surrounded only by ducks.

Central park charms you with it's own beauty. It doesn't matter if it's summer or winter time. Here you can find bunch of girls in pijamas, take pictures with lake, see turtles swimming in there and realize that water is so dirty that you don't want to rent a boat. You can witness at least three weddings in an hour, get a ride with famous Central park carriage and when you get tired just to relax on the grass.

In one day in NY you can see so many things like somewhere else won't cover in a year. I see military people everywhere, SWAT teams, undercover cops, artists carrying huge canvases, designer's photoshoots, artists in parks working on the new painting, make up school students with bodypainted/half naked models...And not to mention in every corner you can find a film crew.

Movie set at Port Authority

Office workers on the lunch break playing ping pong at Bryant Park
Bryant Park

This is what I found in Greenwich Village
Lonely floaty drifting in Hudson river

Tired "Victoria Secret" shoppers rests in Financial District.

Few more place I will recommend anyone to see. It is a Metropolitan Museum, Battery Park and 9/11 Memorial.

Claude Monet

From Battery Park you can see new tower build next to 9/11/Memorial in financial district

Ellis Island on the back

 Big Apple Monument

9/11/Memorial. It's absolutely amazing fountain idea

This many things I saw and did after almost two weeks here and about the same  to come! If you want to see true New York it's not necessary to look up.  Might miss something cool  right in front of you!

  1. Your photographs, reporting and notes from your visit to New York City are wonderful!
I especially love your commentary on fashion and seeing the outfits that you had styled and were wearing yourself!
I LOVE the appearance of the dress that you tied in a knot to avoid becoming the next Marilyn Monroe. It is a shame that you did not feel enough self-confidence to let your panties show! After all, New York City is home to the "No Pants Subway Ride" in winter and to "National Underwear Day" in Summer! In fact, I just wrote a new post on my blog titled:
National-Underwear-Day-2023 - is it time to show my panties?
